Development Squad Demo Day – Try it Out!

August 7, 2017 by admin

Will your child be aged between U8 to U14 next season (2018) and loves football?

Come and try a free, no obligation development squad session at Blackman Park on Thursday 10th of August to see if your child likes the structured and fun development squad training.
What is the development squad?

  • teams train twice a week (Mondays and Thursdays) at Blackman Park with a professional coach from February to August
  • the same coach attends the usual NSFA competition matches with the team to ensure the team plays with the strategies they learnt at training
  • the focus is on playing good football and being a good sport (rather than winning, although, when you play good football, winning often follows)

To enter the squads, your child will need to trial (held in November) and teams will be formed on your child's ability & temperament, not on friend groups.

Try it Out Day:  Thursday 10 August 17 at Blackman Park (Astroturf)

  • 5-6pm: U8-U9s (2018 age groups)
  • 6-7pm: U10s and above (2018 age groups).

LCFC Trivia Night Success

August 4, 2017 by admin

Lane Cove FC hosted it's first ever Trivia Night on Saturday 29th of July at the Lane Cove Golf Club.

The night was a huge success with over 100 people in attendance, representing LCFC teams from Under 6's to Over 45s. We would like to thank everyone who attended the evening and everyone who helped make the night happen. Special thanks to the Lane Cove Golf Club, Crust Pizza, Pan Pacific Hotels, Brokenwood Wines, P&G and the LCFC Committee. All profits raised on the night will go back to LCFC.

Congratulations to the Mens All Age Division 3A team who took out first prize on the night.

We are already planning an even bigger and better Trivia Night for 2018. Who will take out the title?

U11 Team Competed in Kanga Cup in Canberra

August 3, 2017 by admin

The Lane Cove Development Squad sent an U11 team down to frosty Canberra in the first week of July to compete in the Kanga Cup, the largest junior soccer tournament in the southern hemisphere. There were teams competing from all over ACT, NSW, WA, Qld and Victoria as well as New Zealand, Korea and Thailand.

The tournament began with an Opening Ceremony at the Australian Institute of Sport on Sunday 2 July and followed with 5 days of soccer.

While the team loved the soccer, they also visited Questacon, the War Memorial, and went ice skating at an outdoor rink in the city!

The Lane Cove U11 team played extremely well to finish in the top 4 teams of the 24 in their age group. Come on 2018!
