LCFC BBQ/Canteen at Blackman Park on Tuesday Nights

November 9, 2016 by admin

Yesterday evening at Blackman Park, hardworking Lane Cove Members Aidan (aged 11) and Tallin (aged 9) with the assistance of their parents, ran a successful BBQ/Canteen!

Regardless of the unpredictable Sydney weather they served up a delicious sausage sizzle as well as cold drinks and icy poles.

Aidan and Tallin will be running the BBQ/Canteen every Tuesday evening at Blackman Park throughout the 6-a-side tournament!

So whether you are a player or a spectator, bring down some extra change and you won't go hungry or thirsty.

Lane Cove Success at the NSFA President’s Dinner

November 7, 2016 by admin

NSFA held their annual President's Dinner on Saturday the 5th of November at the Kirribilli Club.

At the event, Lane Cove Football Club was represented by a number of guests including the LCFC President, Francis Child, and Kaylar Michaelian and his wife Janet Michaelian who were invited as LCFC's major sponsor Hyecorp.

LCFC were fortunate enough to receive a number of awards on the night, representing the strong and successful club that we aim to be:

  • MAA Premier League Player, Robbie Kerr, was awarded the NSFA Mens All Age Premier League Golden Boot Award as well as the NSFA Mens All Age Premier League Overall Player of the Year Award.
  • WAA Division 1 Player, Belinda Kayser, won the NSFA Womens All Age Division 1 Overall Player of the Year Award.
  • Vice President and Juniors Coordinator of the Club, Steve Prescott, won an NSFA President's Award for his years of contribution towards Lane Cove Football Club. Steve has served on the committee for many years, played in the O35s and O45s teams, coached a number of junior teams and spent more time putting up and taking down nets at Blackman Park/Pottery Green than nearly anyone else in the Club!

LCFC would like to congratulate Robbie, Belinda and Steve on their outstanding achievements.

Kaylar Michaelian (Hyecorp Sponsor), Robbie Kerr (LCFC MAAPL Player), Belinda Kayser (LCFC WAA Div 1 Player) & Francis Child (LCFC President)

LCFC Jerseys Donated to Malawi

September 28, 2016 by admin

This week we received an email from member of the LCFC community, Peter Zelas, who recently travelled to Malawi. LCFC donated all our old jerseys for Peter to gift to the children he was visiting.

Peter's email reads:

"This email is to express my appreciation to the Lane Cove Soccer Club for their generosity, and to let you know that I have been to Blantyre in Malawi, and the shirts are now the proud possessions of young children who have grown up in the most difficult of circumstances. The shirts will remain on the premises for children to use whenever they are playing soccer, a national sport. The children’s faces just lit up when the shirts came out of the box I had been carrying them in. What they are especially so excited about is the number on the shirt.

The “Club” is a refuge for children who are referred there by police, wandering the streets, from social workers or who have been thrown out from their home etc. Some live there permanently, others may go home in the evening if circumstances allow. The organisation is part of the Retrak organisation, which you can view online.

So please convey my thanks to the Lane Cove Soccer Club, much appreciated."

Thank you Peter for your generosity! We are happy to see that LCFC can make a difference to these childrens lives.
